NIH Decision Matrix for Assessing Potential Foreign Interference – August 2024

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has released a decision matrix for assessing potential foreign interference which describes what activities must be disclosed, how disclosures are used, when institutions (and investigators) are contacted for additional information, and when mitigation measures are required.

The new matrix and relevant policies and resources can be accessed from NIH’s August 15th, 2024 communication, “New Decision Matrix Further Clarifies NIH Processes for Handling Allegations of Foreign Interference” (external link) (also available on ORC’s Research Security webpage under “NIH”).
