Research Misconduct Policies and Procedures
There are three stages of response to an allegation of Research Misconduct: Assessment, Inquiry, and Investigation. Each of these stages are fully explained in the University of Maine Policy and Procedures for Responding to Allegations of Research Misconduct (Word). This policy applies to all research and scholarship conducted within the University community, irrespective of discipline or funding source, if any. This Policy does not typically apply to activities undertaken in fulfillment of course requirements unless there is an expectation of publication or dissemination of the results outside of the classroom.
