Project Summary:  The Project, partially funded by the US Department of Commerce, through an Economic Development Administration (EDA) grant, includes the replacement of the existing pier.  The pier consists of steel sheet piles driven around the existing caissons and the annular space filled with concrete.  A cast-in-place concrete cap will be installed on each caisson.  The deck consists of precast concrete deck planks.  The project includes two floating docks, north and south.  The north floating dock includes a timber dock, rock socketed guide piles, gangway and gangway platform.  The south dock includes a timber dock, rock socketed guide piles, and gangway.  A prefabricated dock building is to be provided and installed on the pier.  The existing 1-ton jib crane is to be reinstalled.  The replacement includes all utilities, handrails, and other appurtenances depicted on the drawings and specifications to provide a complete and usable facility.

This project has the following alternatives, if necessary, listed in the order for which they are to be applied:

Alternative 1 – Reduce the boat ramp repair length.
Alternative 2 – Remove the south timber floating dock, gangway and associated utilities from the project.
Alternative 3 – Remove the south floating dock guide piles from the project.
