Kathryn Robinson, Ph.D., MHA/Ed., RN

Bio: Dr. Kathryn Robinson is the Associate Director and an Assistant Professor at the University of Maine School of Nursing with a 75% academic and 25%  research appointment. Dr. Robinson’s research and academic agenda continues to focus on improving the nursing workforce knowledge and application of genomics in healthcare, spreading awareness and leading advancements of genomics in healthcare policies and education, and engaging high cancer risk individuals in health promotion, risk reduction, and early detection strategies. She is committed to this agenda through completed and current projects through consultant work, undergraduate teachings, serving as PI and co-PI on several research studies involving human subjects, and through community outreach activities that span the past six years, and the past fifteen years clinically. She’s been funded as the PI by the American Cancer Society and as co-author on a large P20 NIH grant. She was named a Jonas Nurse Leader PhD Scholar in 2014, and has had the privilege of collaborating with genomic nurse scientists throughout the Northeast region. Dr. Robinson is a co-author on several papers that focus on cancer care and symptom management, and currently works as a consultant/medical writer for the Maine Cancer Genomics Initiative at Jackson Laboratories developing educational materials for clinicians working in oncology. Lastly, she is affiliated with the UMaine Institute of Medicine, and is part-time faculty in the Bouve College of Health Sciences at Northeastern University, Boston MA.
