Silka receives SPSSI award for distinguished service
Dr. Linda Silka, Professor Emerita at UMaine’s School of Economics and Senior Fellow at the Mitchell Center, recently received an award for her distinguished service from the Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues (SPSSI). The award recognized her noteworthy, enthusiastic, dedication and enduring commitment to the organization.
Silka is a career-long member and a Fellow of SPSSI which has profited considerably from her long service to its mission and leadership. She served for a long stretch as a SPSSI Council member and then as President for the Society. During this time, she was noted for leveraging her deep experience, and for her inclusiveness and recognition of other’s contributions.
