UMaine Early College 

Leadership & Public Service Pathway

Lead the way with a head start on your UMaine degree! 

  • Explore leadership principles and roles.
  • Earn 14 college credits.
  • Open to all high school students.
  • Asynchronous online courses with top faculty.
  • Culminates in an optional residential summer program at UMaine.

Starting Fall 2024, the UMaine Early College Leadership and Public Service Pathway offers high school students the opportunity to explore leadership and public service principles while earning college credits.

  • INT 193: Introduction to Career Exploration and Development (2 Credits)
  • LDR 100: Foundations of Leadership (3 Credits)
  • POS 100: American Government (3 Credits)

General Education Options (choose one):

  • ENG 101: College Composition (3 Credits)
  • LDR 200: Leadership Ethics (3 Credits)
  • POS 120: Introduction to World Politics (3 Credits)

Recommended Electives (choose one):

  • CMJ 103: Public Speaking (3 Credits)
  • POS 201: Introduction to Political Theory (3 Credits)
  • POS 203: American State and Local Government (3 Credits)
  • ECO 190: World Food Supply, Population, and Environment (3 Credits)
