Submissions
The Journal of Mind and Behavior (JMB) offers a publication outlet on a quarterly basis. The Journal publishes one volume per year in the following sequence of issues: Winter, Spring, Summer, and Autumn. There are no submission fees of any kind or page costs for accepted manuscripts. JMB is a peer-reviewed, refereed journal, and all decisions will be made by the assessing editors, associate editors and chief editors. Commentaries and responses to individual articles and reviews are welcome. Authors subscribing at the time of manuscript submission are eligible for reduced subscription rates (see subscription page).
Manuscript Submissions
All manuscripts should follow the style and preparation presented in the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (seventh edition, 2020). Particular attention should be paid to the citing of references, both in the text and on the reference page. [Note exceptions to APA style: JMB uses no ampersands or city/state abbreviations in referencing; articles use only three levels of section headings. Sample articles will be sent upon request.] Authors requesting blind review must specify and prepare their manuscripts accordingly. Book Review Submissions
JMB welcomes unsolicited book reviews. JMB also publishes review essays traditionally called “Critical Notices”: close-grained reviews of approximately 5,000 words that become genuine contributions to the secondary literature. Authors wishing to submit book reviews are urged to write with the above interdisciplinary framework in mind.
Reviews should be absent of all titles except the name of the work reviewed, author of work reviewed, place of publication, publisher, date of latest publication, number of pages, and cost. An example of a JMB review can be made available to act as a stylesheet.
For books in cognitive science, philosophy of mind, consciousness studies, the sociology of scientific knowledge and social philosophy, or if you would like to canvass the suitability of a target book and are putting yourself forward as the reviewer, please contact:
