Opportunities

Jobs at the Franco American Centre

We are constantly hiring, especially if you have a workstudy award.  We have multiple websites and a research library, run public programming, publish a magazine and on-line literary journal, and we sponsor an after-school French program — much run by students.  We also welcome student-initiated ideas (want to start a radio program? want to organize an art exhibition?). We often post job openings through UMaine Career Link at the beginning of the semester.  That said, we hire throughout the year.  Come see us if you are interested.

Scholarships

ACA Scholarship Trust “The ACA Scholarship Trust was established in 1924 by a fraternal benefit society originally named Association Canado-Américaine subsequently named ACA Assurance….ACA Assurance is no longer in existence, however, the Scholarship Trust remains as an organization dedicated to providing funds for students desiring to pursue university or college learning at the undergraduate level. Since its creation, the Trust has distributed more than $2,000,000 to students to help them continue their education.”

Residencies

We encourage scholars of all types to join us for a residency at the Franco American Centre.  We cannot provide funding but can offer office space, access to our collections, and other types of support for your project. Contact Franco American staff if you would like to explore possibilities.
