Mark Your Calendars, 2021 Virtual Rassemblement

April 23 - April 25

Building on last year’s success, our annual gathering of Franco-American writers, musicians, researchers, and language educators will once again be a virtual event, the weekend of April 23-25, 2021. If you’ve never attended our Rassemblement because of distance, this is your chance to experience the connection, energetic exchange of ideas, and laughter that characterize this gathering.

The theme of this year’s Rassemblement will be Belonging and Not Belonging: What does it mean to belong? How does the Franco community create a sense of belonging to its members? Where or when have you felt included and excluded, within the Franco community or elsewhere? Why do we wish to feel that we belong, and what are the values and dangers of that feeling? How is assimilation related to belonging? Participants’ presentations may or may not respond to this theme, but we do ask that they in some way relate to Franco culture or history.
Full registration information will be sent out in February, including a survey that will help us to formulate a schedule for the weekend. In the meantime, please reserve the date on your calendar if you are interested in joining us!
