Maine-eDNA Diversity Statment

The Maine-eDNA project is committed to creating and sustaining a welcoming environment for all students, faculty, scientists, staff, and visitors. That environment, critical to the vigorous discovery/learning processes that define institutions of higher learning and research, also depends on the diversity of ideas, cultures, experiences, and backgrounds. The challenge for all of us is to seek out and recruit diversity, which is the lifeblood of a healthy intellectual environment, to support and retain people who have historically marginalized identities, and to commit to identifying and dismantling barriers to equitable participation. An inclusive environment is essential.
