Isabella Pfankuch
Double Major: EES & Forestry
Concentration: Forest Ecosystems Ecology
Why did you choose UMaine and the EES program:
“The variety in concentrations and hands on learning experience.”
Best hands on experience and why:
“One of my favorite hands on experiences was when I worked with the Cooperative Forestry Research Unit over the summer, as it provided a lot of time to be immersed in the environment taking data.”
Favorite class at UMaine and why:
“One of my favorite courses I’ve taken so far has been SFR 107 which is Forest Vegetation. I really enjoy learning knowledge that I can apply to the real world and this course takes the taxonomy and nomenclature of plants, specifically trees, and applies it to identifiable characteristics and features. “
Wisdom for incoming students:
“Remember to explore your options when it comes to extracurriculars and jobs as you might find something that fits your interests that you might not have thought of. “
