ECS vision
Leading today’s geoscience discoveries and inspiring tomorrow’s scientific leaders
Our internationally recognized research and student engagement has global reach, from the deep Earth to the highest mountains, throughout freshwater and ocean systems, and from the equator to the poles. We contribute to societally relevant challenges at the intersections among climate, carbon, energy, and water, with both global impact and local relevance. We aspire to maintain these strengths as a foundation from which to grow in Earth systems and data science, while increasing our applied research footprint and nourishing a diverse student body prepared for an expanding range of geoscience career pathways.
