Pickleball

Our goal is to create an environment that is fun and inclusive to all skill levels while allowing players to improve and compete in pickleball.

The club provides an opportunity for students to participate in organized games, tournaments, and any events related to Pickleball. Students who are interested in joining the Pickleball club can expect practices and training sessions along with monthly competitions. The club also offers a fun and engaging way for students to stay active and healthy while enjoying playing a team sport.

The UMaine pickleball club was founded in 2023 by Aidan Gorneau and Teddy Morin. What started as just wanting to play more pickleball has become one of the fastest-growing clubs on campus, with indoor practice times, free equipment, and many travel tournaments throughout the semester. As the collegiate pickleball scene has grown, the UMaine club has brought teams to tournaments from UConn and Boston to Florida and San Diego, competing at the highest level for prize money and national rankings. On campus, we have a strong member base including many casual players who practice and play multiple times per week. The club is also hosting its first annual spring classic tournament to members and the public April 12-13th at Armstrong Tennis Center. In the future, we hope to continue to grow our club and create more court facilities and opportunities for students to play this awesome new sport.

Spring 2025 indoor practice times:

  • Mondays 5-8
  • Fridays 4-7
