Sydney Greenlee
Sydney is an oceanography PhD student co-advised by Damian Brady and Pete Countway (Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences). Her research uses environmental DNA (eDNA) and imaging flow cytometry to understand harmful algal blooms and phytoplankton communities in the Gulf of Maine.
Before joining the Brady Lab, Sydney graduated from Colby College in 2020 with a double major in Biology and Environmental Science. As an undergraduate, she developed a passion for PCR and the microbial world through several internships and research projects at Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences. Outside the lab, Sydney can be found on the water surfing, sailing, or sea kayaking; or in the mountains hiking, climbing, or skiing.
