Heidi E. Corliss earned a Bachelor of Music Education degree and a Master of Music degree in Choral Conducting at the University of Maine. She teaches in RSU #22 (Hampden, Newburgh, Winterport, Frankfort) where she is Director of Choral Activities 6-12 and 9-12 Fine Arts Leader. Her choirs have been invited to perform at community events, regional festivals, the Maine All-State Conference, and Carnegie Hall. Her middle and high school show choirs continually do very well at state festivals. Mrs. Corliss is active in the Maine Music Educators’ Association and American Choral Directors’ Association holding various state positions in each. She has been adjudicator for All-State auditions and jazz/show choir and large group festivals, directed summer music theater, and has been guest conductor for numerous district festivals. In spring of 2001, Heidi was awarded the Distinguished Choral Director Award by the Maine chapter of ACDA and in 2002 was inducted into Phi Kappa Phi honor society and Pi Kappa Lambda music honor society. She also serves as an adjunct faculty member at the University of Maine where she teaches choral music education.
