Lauren Ross

Dr. Lauren Ross co-leads the Watershed Process and Estuary Sustainability Research Group at the University of Maine.  She is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, as well as a Faculty Fellow in the Senator George J. Mitchell Center for Sustainability Solutions and a Cooperating Faculty member in the School of Marine Sciences and at the Advanced Structures and Composites Center.

Lauren’s research expertise is in coastal physical oceanography and coastal engineering. She works with her students to better understand material transport and residence times related to coastal pollution and HABs in estuaries and coasts around Maine. The overarching goal of her research is to provide decision support for WPES stakeholder partners.
