Alpha Omicron Pi

Alpha Omicron Pi (AOII) at the University of Maine has a legacy of fostering sisterhood, leadership, and philanthropy since its establishment. AOII members at UMaine are expected to embody values such as character, dignity, scholarship, loyalty, simplicity, integrity, circumspection, tolerance, generosity, and love. With the motto “Inspire Ambition,” AOII encourages members to strive for personal and academic excellence while being a support system for each other. Key events include “Smoke Out Arthritis” in the fall, which raises awareness and funds for the Arthritis Foundation, and “Mr. Fraternity” in the spring, an event that strengthens inter-fraternity and sorority bonds. AOII also engages in various collaborations with other organizations and maintains a commitment to philanthropy through local and international initiatives like Sisters for Soldiers. Joining AOII offers students opportunities for academic success programs, leadership development, and participation in meaningful charitable projects, all within a supportive community that values each member’s growth and ambitions.

Welcome to the Chi Omega Xi Beta Chapter at the University of Maine!

Founded in 1921, our chapter is proud to be part of a vibrant network of over 180 Chi Omega chapters worldwide, representing a sisterhood of more than 411,000 women. As the largest women’s fraternal organization, we are dedicated to fostering lifelong friendships, personal integrity, and a commitment to service.

At Chi Omega, we embrace our core values of friendship, academic excellence, community involvement, and personal development. These principles guide our actions and strengthen our bonds as Sisters and friends. 

Our partnership with Make-A-Wish is a testament to our commitment to giving back. Through events like Wicked for Wishes and Swishes for Wishes, we’ve raised over $36,000 to help make dreams come true for children in need.

Welcome to the Maine Alpha Chapter of Pi Beta Phi at the University of Maine! 

Founded in 1867, Pi Beta Phi has 133 active chapters with over 340,000 members who all strive for the same goals. Pi Beta Phi’s mission is to promote friendship, develop women of intellect and integrity, cultivate leadership potential and enrich lives through community service. 

Our philanthropy is Read > Lead > Achieve. Nationally, chapters participate in Champions Are Readers, a program designed to help children develop their reading skills. The Maine Alpha Chapter of Pi Beta Phi was founded on May 24th, 1920. Our annual philanthropy event, Carnation and Crushes, takes place around Valentine’s Day, with all proceeds benefiting the literacy fund.
