The Sawyer Water Research Laboratory (SWRL) at the University of Maine provides analytical services for chemistry of water, aquatic sediments, and aquatic organisms.  The lab performs the following analyses:

 

  • Base Cations, Trace Metals, and Aluminum Speciation
  • Mercury in Solids
  • Major Anions (Cl, NO3, SO4)
  • Nutrients  (including N and P)
  • Chlorophyll
  • Carbon (DIC and DOC)
  • pH (Beaker, Closed Cell, and Equilibrated)
  • ANC (alkalinity) and Specific Conductance
  • Color, Total Suspended Solids, and Turbidity
