Tara V. Casimir, PhD, RN, CNE
Dr. Tara V. Casimir, PhD, RN, CNE, is an Associate Professor of Nursing at the University of Southern Maine and adjunct faculty at the University of Maine School of Nursing, where she leads curriculum innovation, teaches across undergraduate and graduate programs, and mentors future nursing scholars. Her scholarship spans global health capacity building, faculty advising models in nursing, and nursing workforce sustainability, alongside community-engaged projects addressing rural workers, particularly the health of Maine’s fisheries workers. Dr. Casimir integrates experiential learning and reflective practice into her teaching, preparing students to connect service and scholarship to strengthen community wellbeing.
A former Visiting Scholar at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health’s ERC for Occupational Health and Safety (2021-2025), she currently serves on the advisory board of the Northeast Center for Occupational Health and Safety (NEC).
