Jamie joined the Kerr Lab as a Quantitative Research Associate in September of 2021. As a research associate, Jamie primarily investigates how a changing climate and environmental conditions affect fish population dynamics and management. Jamie has contributed to both the American plaice and Atlantic cod research tracks, identifying and modeling relationships between environmental variables and species stock dynamics. Other projects include developing an Integrate Ecosystem Assessment (IEA) that captures the status and trends in Maine’s coastal waters in effort to build a greater awareness of how ecosystem variability and change influence marine resources and fisheries and to support ecosystem-based fishery management and climate adaptation planning efforts. Jamie has also led a study on characterizing Atlantic cod bycatch in the American lobster fishery for use in the Atlantic cod management track. Jamie received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the University of Maine, Orono.
