Pumpkins – North America – one of the oldest domesticated plants!

Squash – Mesoamerica and the Andes.

Potato – Peru in South America.

Carrot – Europe and Asia.

Watermelon – Africa

Grapes – Near East

Coconut – Southwest Asia

Yams – Trick question!  Yams have been independently domesticated in Asia, Africa, and the Americas!

Corn – Mexico

Animals:

LLamas – South America

Caribou – Occur in Arctic regions of America and Eurasia, domesticated in Eurasia.

Horses – Asia

Deer – Trick question!  Deer are found on all continents except Antarctica and Australia.

Dogs – While the dog was likely first domesticated somewhere in Europe or Asia, the earliest humans in the Americas brought dogs with them.

Beaver – There are species of beavers in both North America and Eurasia.

Bison – There are species native to both North America and Europe.  A related bovine (the water buffalo) is a very important animal in Asia.

Sheep – One of the earliest domesticates! (After dogs, of course.) Probably domesticated somewhere in Europe or Asia.

Turkey – Native to North America and domesticated in Mexico.

Cows – Middle East
