Memorial Union Lactation Room
Room Set Up
Our dedicated lactation room is located on the lower level of the Memorial Union in room 162B and offers a comfortable and private space for nursing employees to pump their breast milk during their time at work. The room contains at least one comfortable chair, a table, a refrigerator, electrical outlets, and cleaning supplies. Please keep in mind that we do not furnish the lactation room with an electric pump.
Scheduling Time in the Lactation Room
- The room is available between the hours of 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Access to the room is on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Use of the lactation room can be scheduled by calling 207-581-1734.
- While users are able to schedule time in advance, we ask that you do not schedule more than 30 days in advance. This will provide everyone with more flexibility to reserve space in the lactation room as their needs change.
- The lactation room can be scheduled for 30 minutes at a time. We ask that you please not use the room longer than necessary in order to allow for as many people as possible to be able to utilize it.
- The lactation room is to be used only for the purposes of expressing, collecting, and storing breast milk.
Cleaning & Sanitizing
- It is the responsibility of everyone who utilizes this room to maintain a clean room that is ready for the next occupant. All breast milk spills must be cleaned using the cleaning solutions provided.
