Commitment to Diversity
Science should be accessible to all. We are committed to enhancing diversity, equity, and inclusion. We actively encourage application from students from diverse backgrounds. All are welcome here.
Undergraduate Research Assistants
Undergraduate research assistants work closely with graduate students in the lab. Research opportunities may include the following: assisting with literature reviews, participant recruitment, data collection, and data entry. Students who have been in the lab for more than one semester and who have demonstrated competency in their tasks may also have the opportunity to present data at the UMaine Student Symposium or larger academic conferences and assist with manuscript preparation. Qualified students may also have the opportunity to complete a capstone senior thesis project (PSY 494 or HON 499).
Students are expected to commit to at least two semesters in the lab for at least 9 hours per week, including a weekly mandatory lab meeting. Students may receive course credit (PSY 492) for their work in the lab or may do so on a voluntary basis.
If you are interested in joining the lab, please complete the HAL Lab RA Application (this will open a Google form in a new tab).
