Workshop Description
Discover how to transform your social studies classroom into a dynamic, engaging, and innovative learning environment by integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a teaching assistant. This hands-on workshop will explore practical strategies for using AI tools to enhance lesson planning, differentiate instruction, and foster critical thinking, creativity, communication, and collaboration. Participants will align their work with the SAMR model to evaluate and guide technology integration effectively.

Nick Scott is an experienced educator with 20 years in the field, focusing on social studies for the past decade at Boothbay Region High School in Maine. He holds a Master’s degree and an Ed.S in Instructional Technology from the University of Maine, where he earned the Outstanding Graduate Student Award for the 2020-2021 school year. In addition to teaching, Nick has coached cross country and track & field for 19 years, promoting teamwork and athletic development among his students. He resides in Boothbay with his wife and two children.
