Uncheatable: Designing Assessments in the age of AI
Workshop Description
Low student engagement and artificial intelligence have educators wondering about the future of school. The solution: Uncheatable assessments. Award-winning educator and best-selling author Michael Hernandez shares examples of classroom tested, evidence-based strategies for designing rigorous, equitable, and meaningful assessments in every grade level and subject area.
This session helps participants learn to use project-based assignments as a substitute for traditional assessments like worksheets, quizzes, tests, and essays.

Michael is an award-winning teacher, author, and speaker in Los Angeles whose work focuses on digital and civic literacy, authentic assessment, and innovative teaching strategies. His book, Storytelling With Purpose: Digital Projects to Ignite Student Curiosity (ISTE) helps educators increase student engagement, and his course, Uncheatable Assessments, shows how to design assignments that foster academic integrity in the age of AI.
