Julia Plumb
About Me:
Hi all! I’m Julia and I am a third-year Ph.D. student in the clinical psychology program here at UMaine.
I’m originally from Vermont, and moved to Maine from Boston, where I worked in adolescent and young
adult medicine research at Boston Children’s Hospital. In my free time, I like to lift, hike, cook, play
hockey and golf, and spend time with my dog.
What is your favorite food?
It’s a toss-up between pulled pork and tacos.
If you could take a trip anywhere in the world, where would you go?
I have quite a few locations on my list of places I’d like to visit, but I’d say that the top contenders at this
point in time are Iceland, New Zealand, and Southern Italy.
Professional Credentials and Interests:
Bachelors of Science in Psychological Science, with a minor in Nutrition and Food Sciences: University of
Vermont, 2020
Masters in Clinical Psychology (MA): University of Maine, 2025
My theoretical framework is primarily cognitive behavioral, while also pulling from mindfulness-based
and dialectical behavioral approaches. Clinical interests of mine include anxiety and OCD, serious mental
illness, substance use, and forensics.
