- She was awarded third place!

- Jordan gave an oral presentation titled, “A Prospective Therapeutic Reduces Migration in Metastatic Breast Cancer Driven by Integrin α2β1”
- Josh gave an oral presentation titled, ” Breast Cancer Risk Prediction Using Dense Tissue Stratification and Complementary Texture-Based Approaches”
- Declan presented a poster along with his co-authors Mary, Maren, Josh, and Jeremy, titled, “A Novel Classification Integration for AI Segmentation Models in Digital Pathology”
- Isabelle presented a poster along with her co-author Josh titled, “Color Normalization and Deconvolution Effects on the Anisotropy Analysis of Breast Tissue”

- Lab director Andre Khalil, and lab member Josh Hamilton presented their work in collaboration with WAVED Medical entitled, “Image-based breast cancer risk assessment based on dense mammographic tissue subtypes” at the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium

- They presented posters titled, ” Longitudinal Assess of Active and Passive Dense Mammographic Tissue” and “Multiscale Computational Analysis of Patient-Matched Multi-Modal Imaging of Breast Tissue Microenvironment”
- They also were able to catch-up with lab alumni and 2015 University of Maine graduate Elliot Ossanna.

- Lab members Madison Raza, Jordan Miner, and Maggie McCarthy presented the lab’s latest breast cancer research at the 2023 Northeast Bioengineering Conference
- Lab members Basel White, Jordan Miner, Jeremy Juybari, and lab alumnus Zach Marin participated in the UT Southwestern Medical Center Breast Cancer Hackathon. Jeremy’s team placed 2nd, and Jordan’s team won the patient’s advocate award.
February:
- Lab director Andre Khalil and Ph.D. candidate Kendra Batchelder presented at the Maine Health Innovation Blender
- They presented their plan for commercializing an image-based risk assessment for mammography.
January:
- Lab director, Andre Khalil, presented to the Maine Innovation Research and Technology Accelerator (MIRTA) 2023 cohort.
- He shared the entrepreneurial experience from his participation in the 2022 MIRTA cohort and the Summer 2022 National Science Foundation (NSF)‘s I-Corps with Kendra Batchelder and Jeremy Juybari, which led to the founding of WAVED Medical.

- Lab members Basel White and Josh Hamilton presented their research at the 2022 Biomedical Engineering Society meeting in San Antonio, TX
- Basel’s presented his masters work, titled “Hybrid Power Spectral and Wavelet Image Roughness Analysis.”
- Josh’s presented a portion of his PhD research, comparing our wavelet-based anisotropy score calculated from second harmonic generation images of patient biopsies to BI-RADS assessment scores on that patient’s mammogram.
