Rob Niemeyer

Dr. Robert Niemeyer was a fixed-term assistant professor of mathematics in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. Dr. Niemeyer completed his PhD at the University of California, Riverside and an NSF MCTP Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of New Mexico. Dr. Niemeyer is focusing on computational approaches to mathematical billiards and fractal billiards, as well as other projects in mathematical sociology and mathematical physics. In collaboration with Dr. Khalil, Dr. David Bradley (Math, UMaine) and former CompuMAINE student Elliot Ossanna, Dr. Niemeyer focuses on determining the fractal dimension of particular variants of Pascal’s triangle mod p.
