SFR 400 – applied geographic information systems
Students will build an understanding of the fundamentals and applications of GIS through lectures, readings, lab assignments and completing a final lab practicum. Students will learn to use ArcGIS Pro software for doing lab activities and assignments using existing data. This computer-intensive course includes a detailed discussion and related computer activities on the following topics: basic geography, map and GIS concepts, data sources, data quality, data classification, vector and raster data models, projections, datums, coordinates, geoprocessing and geospatial analysis.
