Dr. Stern
Daily dog hikes, practice, and home maintenance occupy most of David’s days. Since moving to Maine, he has enjoyed the privilege of performing with the Portland Jazz Orchestra, Seacoast Big Band, Colby College Orchestra, Symphonic, and Jazz Bands, Southern Maine New Horizons Band, and Innovation Brass Quintet. His primary teachers are Bill Stanley, Don Lucas, and Tom Stein; additional study with Rich Matteson, Joe Alessi, Carsten Svanberg, and Steven Mead. David has the privilege of teaching applied brass courses at the University of Maine. He is an artist/clinician for the Edwards Instrument Company and serves as co-editor of the literature review column for the International Trombone Association Journal.
