Extension

The SWF3 extension team educates and informs the five critical stakeholders of the bioeconomy—aquaculture farmers, forest owners, industry professionals (bioenergy and bioproduct producers), policy makers and the public—about the sustainable benefits and commercial potential of SWF3 technologies, with the aim of promoting their adoption for the successful commercialization of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and fish feed ingredient production from low-quality woody biomass (LWB). This goal is supported by addressing specific needs and challenges identified within each stakeholder group.

Critical Bioeconomy Stakeholders

Aquaculture Farmers

Educating aquaculture farmers about the benefits of LWB-derived fish feed ingredients opens new markets.

Forest Owners

Forest owners need LWB preprocessing skills to meet biorefinery feedstock specifications.

Industry Professionals

Addressing industrial stakeholders’ concerns is crucial for effective technology transfer.

Policy MAkers

Informing policy makers about the gaps in promoting the bioeconomy enables them to develop targeted interventions.

Public

Raising public awareness about the sustainable advantages of SAF and fish feed is essential to increase their use.
