General Description
Student is responsible for performing highly complex computer-related technical work using specialized skills and knowledge. Student exercises a high level of independent judgment and initiative under limited to no direct supervision.
Duties (may include but not limited to)
Provides assistance, support and communication regarding complex technical work
Operates and maintains a variety of highly complex computer equipment
Performs system upgrades
Assists in installations, integrations and configurations
Assists professional and technical staff with programming
Designs and manages simple to complex databases
Performs research work and administrative tasks
Works on complex projects as assigned
Creates, improves and implements processes related to computing on campus
Tests computer operations
Replaces computer parts
Picks up and delivers equipment
Ships components as necessary
Installs and troubleshoots complex computer systems
Provides highly complex technical support
Additional Requirements (may include but not limited to)
Exhibits extensive knowledge of computer software — specifics depend on department
Has advanced computer skills
Shows the ability to work independently
Exhibits a high level of trustworthiness
Must sign a confidentiality agreement
