CLERY ACT INFORMATION

Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act (Clery Act)

The Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act (Clery Act), as provided by 20 U.S.C. § 1092, directs public and private institutions of higher education who participate in federal financial aid programs to disclose campus safety information, in addition to imposing certain requirements for handling incidents of sexual violence and emergency situations. The goal of this report is to provide transparency around crime policy and statistics, aiding members of the community in making informed decisions about their safety on campus.

The University of Maine Police Department maintains an updated log as required by the Clery Act for all crime and fire data. In accordance with the Clery Act, this is updated within two business days.
