Originally from southern Maine, Amelia moved to Orono to attend the University of Maine as a transfer student. She fell in love with the area and, after graduating with a B.S. in Environmental Horticulture, chose to stay and began working for two other TRIO programs.

Amelia joined the College Success Programs in October 2024, excited about the opportunity to provide more face-to-face support to students as an advisor. She provides behind-the-scenes organizational support and helps students navigate college through supplemental advising. As a first-generation, low-income student herself, Amelia is passionate about supporting students facing similar challenges. She is dedicated to fostering a welcoming and supportive environment where students can achieve their goals.

When she’s not in her office, Amelia loves to garden with native plants and spend time with animals, including her own two dogs and three cats, the groundhog that lives under her shed, the deer eating her aforementioned garden, and often a foster pet or two
