In collaboration with the Canadian-American Center at the University of Maine, Melissa Mollen Dupuis will provide a virtual presentation regarding her book, Nutshimit.

In Innu culture, nutshimit represents both the physical and social space for connecting with traditions, language, and nature. Step into this world with author Melissa Mollen Dupuis as she takes you on a guided journey through the forest, showing how to weave Indigenous voices into the K-12 French classroom and inspire students through Nutshimit.
Readers of the book explore the deep connection between Indigenous language and the natural world while engaging with Elise Gravel’s signature comic-style illustrations. Through her captivating storytelling and personal anecdotes, Melissa Mollen Dupuis offers a heartfelt and immersive glimpse into Innu life.
