Chris Keating

Chris Keating graduated from the University of Maine in 1979 with a degree in Business Administration before beginning a seven-season NFL career with the Buffalo Bills and Washington. While playing with the NFL, he also became a registered stockbroker, and continued working in finance in Boston after retiring from football. Chris earned his law degree from Suffolk University Law School in 1991, later building a long career in institutional investment management. In 2023, he became a certified mediator and now practices in the Greater Boston area. A lifelong supporter of UMaine, Keating comes from a family deeply connected to the university and has served on multiple advisory boards and alumni organizations, earning numerous honors including induction into the UM Sports Hall of Fame and the Abram Harris Award. In fall 2025, he assumed the role of Chairman of the University of Maine Foundation, and serves on the UMaine Board of Visitors in an ex officio capacity.
