The Maine Trombone Collective
The Maine Trombone Collective is a gathering of excellent trombonists from around the state of Maine. The Collective appears throughout the year in various venues in the state, playing classical music, early music, jazz, and sometimes even pop hits. Members of the group include college professors and students, local music educators, symphony musicians, freelance trombonists, and others.
The Collective often appears on UMaine’s Brass Night concerts in November and April. Check the School of Performing Arts performance schedule for details.
When it’s difficult to assemble en masse, we enjoy making multi-track recordings of our favorite music:
Edvard Grieg: Morning from Peer Gynt Suite (Eddie Angelo, trombones; Dr. Barrett, tubas)
Johannes Brahms: Rhapsody Op. 119 No. 4 (Dr. Barrett, trombones)
