Outstanding Classified Employee Award

The Employees Advisory Council (EAC) solicits nominations for the Outstanding Classified Employee Award yearly. EAC believes it is essential to acknowledge the exceptional service and dedication of classified employees to the University of Maine. EAC would like to increase the campus community’s awareness of the indispensable contributions that represented and non-represented classified employees make to the quality, diversity, and overall mission of the university.

You may nominate a classified employee for this award by submitting the form at the link above. Each nomination must include at least three (3) letters of recommendation that describe the nominee’s actions, activities, and attributes that set their job performance and contributions to the university community above normal expected levels.

Each finalist must meet the following criteria:

·         Current UMaine classified (hourly) employee

·         Served the University for a minimum of three (3) continuous years (full or part-time)

·         Inspires others through dedication, commitment, and work ethic

·         Maintains the highest level of professional service to the campus community, their department(s), or areas of responsibility

·      Provided outstanding service to their university department(s)

·      Helped to create a better environment for employees, students, and the campus community through their outstanding service

After reviewing the nominations, EAC’s Outstanding Classified Employee Subcommittee will notify one winner. The finalist will receive an award as a cash stipend of $1,000.

Late nominations and incomplete applications will not be accepted. Again, nominations without at least three (3) letters of recommendation are incomplete and will not be considered.
