2022 York County 4-H Important Dates

January 1, 2022:  Referred to as your “4-H age,” your age on December 31 is the age you will be for the entire 4-H year. 

January 2, 2022:  Independent members only: Progress report due to the Extension Office. 

February 1, 2022:  Eastern States Dairy, Dog, Goat, Horse, and Sheep Intent to Participate at Eastern States forms due. Date subject to change!

February 25, 2022:  York County 4-H Public Speaking Workshop, 1-2pm

March 1, 2022:  Maine 4-H Foundation Scholarship applications due to the York County Extension Office. Mailed applications must be postmarked by March 1st.

March 2022:  CWF application deadline

March 12, 2022:  York County 4-H Public Speaking Tournament, 10am – 12pm 

March 2022:  National 4-H Conference trip to Washington, D.C.

April 1, 2022:  Deadline for new member enrollments. Any youth not previously enrolled in 4-H has until April 1st to submit completed enrollment forms in order to participate in fairs and statewide events (not including National 4-H trips).

April 1, 2022:  Independent members only: Progress report due to the Extension Office. 

April 1, 2022:  Eastern States Horse Animal Approval Form and Lease Form due in county office. Always bring the York County 4-H embossed paper copies of your approval forms with you to the fair if you are showing animals.

April 9, 2022:  Maine State 4-H Public Speaking Tournament 

May 1, 2022:  “Intent to sell” Market Lamb forms due in the York County Extension Office. 

May 1, 2022:  Eastern States Dairy and Working Steer Animal Approval Form and Lease Form due in the Extension office. Always bring the York County 4-H embossed paper copies of your approval forms with you to the fair if you are showing animals.

May 14, 2022:  York County 4-H Fashion Revue

May 15, 2022:  Betty Syvinsky scholarship application due (email or post) in the York County Extension office. Must be post-marked May 15th. 

May 2022:  4-H at UMaine program for 4-H members ages 12 – 17.

June 30, 2022:  Animal Approval Form and Lease Form are due in the Extension office for Beef, Dairy, Dog, Goat, and Sheep. Always bring the York County 4-H embossed paper copies of your approval forms with you to the fair if you are showing animals. No Approval form is needed for rabbits/cavies and chickens.

June 2022:  Entry forms are due to Ossipee Valley Fair.  Be sure to get a camping spot if needed. Check fair website for specific dates.  Bring certified embossed approval forms with you if showing animals.

June/July 2022:  Citizenship Washington Focus trip.

July 1, 2022:  Independent members only: Progress report due to the Extension Office. 

July 2022:  Ossipee Valley Fair in South Hiram.

August 1, 2022:  Livestock entry forms for Acton Fair due (see Premium book for where to send)

August 25-28, 2022:  Acton Fair

Sept 16-Oct 2, 2022:  Eastern States “The Big E” Fair

Oct 2-Oct 9, 2022:  Fryeburg Fair 

Nov 2022:  National Congress trip to Atlanta, GA.
