Washington County Youth Win 4-H Public Speaking Tournament
Orono, Maine — Mikaila L. and Hope C. won Overall Speaker awards Saturday, March 29 at the 4-H Regional Public Speaking Tournament at the University of Maine.
Mikaila, of Horse Power 4-H Club in Washington County, won in the demonstration division for her talk titled “Fab Frames.” Hope, an independent member from Washington County, won in the illustration category for her presentation titled “Military Dogs.”
Kate and Libby B. of the 4-H Club Quoddy Kids in Washington County, also presented at the annual regional competition. The girls teamed up for a “How to Make String Art” presentation. Youth from Aroostook, Hancock, Knox, Lincoln, Piscataquis and Waldo counties also took part.
