Our 4-part online orientation course is designed to provide UMaine Extension volunteers with a broad overview of who we are and what we do as an organization. The course covers basic information and policies that will be helpful to you as a volunteer.

The course is divided into four short modules:

  • Introduction to University of Maine Cooperative Extension
  • Volunteer Rights and Responsibilities
  • Liability
  • Risk Management

To sign up for this free course, please e-mail the following info to jennifer.lobley@maine.edu:

  • Name (first, last)
  • Mailing address
  • Phone (optional)
  • Area(s) of interest for volunteering (if you are unsure, see Ways to Get Involved for some possible options)

Please type “Request to enroll in UMaine Extension’s Volunteer Orientation Online Course” into the Subject line of your e-mail.

You will receive back an e-mail confirmation explaining how to access our online course through eXtension, the host for our volunteer orientation.
