Griffin Dill, who manages the University of Maine Cooperative Extension’s Tick Lab, spoke with CentralMaine.com about the record surge in Lyme disease cases across the state this year. Dill said that drought conditions did little to slow tick activity because the timing coincided with the larval stage, when ticks remain close to the moist ground.
