The University of Maine Cooperative Extension in Cumberland County is offering five different “Preserving the Harvest” workshops from Kennebec to York county in October. UMaine Extension staff and volunteers will teach participants hands-on, USDA-recommended food preservation methods. Attendees will make samples to take home. Fresh produce, canning jars and other canning equipment will be provided.
