Renae Moran, a tree fruit specialist with the University of Maine Cooperative Extension, spoke about the state’s apple crop for the latest post of the Portland Press Herald blog “The Root: Dispatches from Maine’s food sources.” Moran said this year’s crop is larger than last year’s because the weather during bloom was favorable for pollination.
