Guest Speaker – Politician\/Alumna:<\/b><\/p>\n

Women in Business invited former Maine State Senator Emily Cain to speak with our organization on March 25th, 2021. This event was held in collaboration with UMaine Renaissance with support from All Maine Women.<\/p>\n

Resume Panel:<\/b><\/p>\n

In conjunction with Women in Economics, Women in Business hosted a virtual resume panel on April 2nd, 2021. We invited several alumnae that represent experience from various industries in the business and economics fields.<\/p>\n

Guest Speaker – Alumna:<\/b><\/p>\n

We welcomed MBS alumna, Bristyn Leasure, to share her experience and advice with us on April 8th, 2021. A recent graduate, Ms. Leasure now works for Oracle as an Applications Account Executive.<\/p>\n

Negotiation Workshop:<\/b><\/p>\n

On November 4th, 2020 our club hosted a negotiation workshop with Dr. Mahon. He was able to share with us the most common pitfalls and challenges that women face when negotiating throughout their academic and professional careers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Guest Speaker – President\/CEO:<\/strong>
\nOn November 9th, 2020 our club hosted a guest speaker, Renee Ouellette, President\/CEO at University Credit Union. She spoke to us about some of her professional successes, how to manage a work\/life balance, important lessons she’s learned, and much more!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Panel Discussion – NEVERTHELESS:<\/strong>
\nOn October 23rd, 2020 our club sponsored the showing of NEVERTHELESS, a film that follows the intimate stories of seven individuals who’ve experienced sexual harassment in the workplace or school context. “Nevertheless, we persist.\u201d After the showing, there was a director\/producer panel Q&A.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Guest Speaker – Entrepreneur\/Co-Founder\/Alumna:<\/strong><\/p>\n

On March 9th, 2020 our club hosted a guest speaker, Heather Furth, co-founder of Orono Brewing Company and Woodman’s Bar and Grill. She spoke to us about her journey as a female business co-owner and the challenges she has faced as a woman in business.<\/p>\n
