{"id":4180,"date":"2016-10-31T12:48:25","date_gmt":"2016-10-31T16:48:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/new.umaine.edu\/wle\/?page_id=4180"},"modified":"2026-03-13T16:30:57","modified_gmt":"2026-03-13T20:30:57","slug":"letterhead","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/umaine.edu\/wle\/resources-for-graduate-students\/letterhead\/","title":{"rendered":"Letterhead"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>If you need an electronic version of the Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Conservation Biology (WFCB) letterhead:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/umaine.edu\/wle\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/300\/2016\/10\/WFCB-Letterhead-one-page.doc\">WFCB Letterhead one page<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/umaine.edu\/wle\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/300\/2016\/10\/WFCB-Letterhead-two-pages.doc\">WFCB Letterhead two pages<\/a><\/p>\n<p>These are Microsoft Word documents.<\/p>\n<p>General tips:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Start typing about one inch below the logo.<\/li>\n<li>Do not drop font below 12 point unless you know your audience has 20\/20 vision or better.<\/li>\n<li>Generally, serif fonts are for &#8220;readability,&#8221; while sans-serif fonts are for &#8220;legibility.&#8221; Which is why, in print, sans-serif fonts are often used as the headline font and serif fonts are used for the body text.<\/li>\n<li>Generally, the University uses the Garamond font for the serif font and Helvetica for the sans-serif font.<\/li>\n<li>First line should be date then hit return four times and type name and address of recipient.<\/li>\n<li>Use a colon after &#8220;Dear XXXXXX:&#8221;.<\/li>\n<li>Use a comma after your closing &#8220;Sincerely,&#8221; or &#8220;Best regards,&#8221;.<\/li>\n<li>After closing, hit return four times and type your name and\/or title this should mirror the four returns above in the third bullet.<\/li>\n<li>If you need the document to fit on one page, consider editing instead of decreasing margins and decreasing font.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>If you need an electronic version of the Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Conservation Biology (WFCB) letterhead: WFCB Letterhead one page WFCB Letterhead two pages These are Microsoft Word documents.
