Brief Biography: <\/strong>Growing up along coastal Connecticut, I grew an interest in wildlife, especially when it came to birds. I am especially interested in bioacoustics, avian behavior, and ecology. I’m a UMaine WFCB alum and have had the opportunity to work with birds in Maine, Virginia, Florida, and Hawai’i. I enjoy birding, wildlife photography, sewing, and crafting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Current Research: <\/strong>My research focuses on assessing forest bird response to different forest management activities. I am working with the Cooperative Forestry Research Unit (CFRU) to conduct surveys and experiments on land as part of the Maine Adaptive Silviculture Network (MASN). Objectives of this research include assessing historical bird transect data, developing a protocol for using acoustic recording units (ARUs) for future long-term surveys, and creating a consortium of long-term forest bird and forestry research across the Acadian Forest Region. My hope is for the results of this research to contribute to maintaining avian biodiversity and improving wildlife habitat in Maine and beyond through better forest management.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
