Maine Day 2017

On May 3, 2017, 1500 volunteers completed 74 projects for Maine Day 2017.  Projects ranged from raking around the Memorial Union and Fogler Library, to helping stain a shed at the Forestry Field Office on College Ave Extension and cleaning up downtown Orono.  At the Hungry 100K, over 250 volunteers, including students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members packed 107,000 meals that were distributed throughout the State of Maine.  A lot of great work was done.  Our campus looks amazing!  It will be great to show it off next weekend at Commencement.  Speaking of Commencement, we are still looking for volunteers to assist.  If you are interested, visit umaine.edu/commencement to get more information and sign up!  Thank you to all who helped to make Maine Day 2017 a great success. UMaine Black Bears definitely showed that this is the College of our Hearts Always!  Go Blue!
