Collecting Donations for Seasonal Workers

Our friends at University of Maine at Machias are collecting donations for Mano en Mano | Hand in Hand during October. Mano en Mano will be supporting migrant and seasonal workers coming to Maine – many helping to harvest tips and make holiday wreaths! They need clothing, food and other items for these workers. Check out the list below. Items can be dropped at the Bodwell Center until October 19. These workers are vital to these DownEast businesses. Let’s help give them a Hearty Maine Hello!

Clothing:
Work boots (insulated for working outside), rain boots – all sizes
Warm clothing/layers (long sleeve undershirts, long underwear, sweaters) – women & men, sizes S & M
Jackets/Coats (warm work coats/jackets, no dress coats) – women & men, sizes S & M
Work gloves (insulated gloves for working outside)
Shoes – especially sizes 8.5-11.5 men and 7-11 women
Please no children’s clothing

Food:
Canned tomatoes, tomato pasta cause or vegetables
Cooking oil, salt, seasoning
Dried or canned lentils, chickpeas, and beans
Rice or tortillas
Chicken, canned fish/tuna
Peanut butter and jelly

Other items:
Warm blankets or sleeping bags
Toiletries: toothpaste, shampoo, tampons/pads
