{"id":410,"date":"2017-03-15T22:13:50","date_gmt":"2017-03-16T02:13:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/umaine.edu\/veterans\/?page_id=410"},"modified":"2025-09-09T14:14:08","modified_gmt":"2025-09-09T18:14:08","slug":"in-state-tuition","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/umaine.edu\/veterans\/faq\/in-state-tuition\/","title":{"rendered":"In-State Tuition for Veterans and Dependents"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p2\">Beginning in the Summer of 2014, the University of Maine System Board of Trustees approved a system-wide policy approving in-state tuition for\u00a0all current and former members of the US Armed Forces who were honorably discharged, regardless of whether or not they are receiving benefits.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">In addition, beginning in the Summer of 2015, the University of Maine System Board of Trustees approved a system-wide policy approving in-state tuition to all military dependents using a GI Bill\u00ae. Further, that once the in-state tuition rate is applied to the eligible individual, it shall remain in effect until the individual completes their academic program, even after GI Bill\u00ae benefits have been exhausted, transferred, or are otherwise expired.<\/p>\n<p><em>GI Bill\u00ae is a registered trademark of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
